Care Ministries
At the Church by the Glades we believe love is an action. Our goal is to reach out to those in need through counseling, delivering meals, providing minor home or automotive repairs, visiting patients in the hospital or just praying with those who are hurting. We want to serve as Jesus’ physical hands and feet. Jesus said, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” (John 13:34)
Celebrate Recovery Ministry
This program helps those struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process. This group provides fellowship and celebrates God’s healing power through the twelve step program. We share our experiences, strengths and hopes with one another as we become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our problems. This ministry meets on Thursday nights @ 6:45pm in the Music Suite. Contact David Lutes for more info.
Hospital Care Ministry
The Hospital Ministry seeks to extend the love, comfort and compassion of Jesus Christ to those who are admitted to the hospital or confined in their homes. After training, team members visit those in need to offer prayer and encouragement and to be used by God in an evangelistic sense to represent Jesus Christ.
Holiday Food Baskets (Thanksgiving & Christmas)
This volunteer group purchases, packages and distributes holiday meals to community members who need a helping hand during the holiday season.
Home Visitation Ministry
This ministry continues the compassionate care we offer to those who return home after hospitalization or those who are unable to attend church due to illness or disability. These team members also receive initial training to equip them to minister to others in prayer, encouragement and evangelism.
Meal Ministry
This group of volunteers prepares and/or delivers meals on an “as needed” basis to those who have experienced a hospital stay or extended illness. Bereavement meals and hosting services are also provided for CBGlades families by this group.
DivorceCare/DivorceCare for Kids (DC4K)
DivorceCare is a group of people who will walk alongside those experiencing the pain of separation or divorce. Volunteer leaders facilitate the 15 week support group which includes instructional videos from experts on divorce and recovery. After viewing the video, DivorceCare participants spend time as a support group discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members. Contact Don or Ileana Oxley @ 954.494.8516 for more info.
GriefShare Ministry
GriefShare is a 15 week seminar and support group for people grieving the loss of someone close. Each GriefShare session is designed to help people recover from grief after the loss of a family member, friend or acquaintance. Each GriefShare session combines practical information with a biblical Christ-centered focus on the spiritual issues that accompany the grieving process.
Women On Mission
Women on Mission is a mission organization whose purpose is to pray for and give to missions, participate in mission projects, and grow spiritually towards a mission lifestyle. Some of the projects include: Angel Tree, Living Water Care Center, Hope Pregnancy Center, Sheridan House Ministries, Tanna F. Dawson Christian Women’s Center and care packages for military personnel and college students.
Prayer Ministry
The prayer chain is a ministry of our church with the purpose of pulling the church family and friends together during times of specific needs. A phone prayer chain will communicate prayer requests to other participants who have committed to pray for individuals in need.
Helping Hands Ministry
The Helping Hands ministry shares God’s love through the gift of service by providing minor home repairs and maintenance for those that are in need. We also complete various projects around the church property to keep God’s house looking its very best.
Can you paint, do yard work, help someone move, make minor repairs around the house, or are you just willing to help out? We are looking for those with a heart for service and enjoy helping others. Different teams go out on Saturdays and volunteer their time and talents up to four hours per month.
Contact Pastor Scott Russell for more info on any of the above ministries.
